Kohle wird von ansteigender Flut abgetragen.

Thematisiert und freigelegt ist ein Zeitraum – der Raum, den der Wasserpegel an der Meeresküste freigibt, wenn der Höchststand zum Tiefststand der Tide bei Ebbe sinkt - und den der folgenden Anstieg bei Flut wieder einnimmt. Der Gewinn von Raum auf Zeit, periodisch wiederkehrend, jedes mal anders temporär.
Kohlestaub ist breitflächig auf eine Leinwand aufgetragen, unfixiert wird die Fläche zur Hälfte ins Meer getaucht. Die Kohle in der schwarzen Fläche hält unter Wasser beinahe stand. Nur da wo die Linie des steigenden Wasser sich Welle für Welle empor arbeitet, wird die Kohle von der Leinwand abgespült.
Das schafft Ähnlichkeit zu den weißen Felsküstenstreifen, die sich vom stätigen Wellengang über die Zeit gezeichnet zwischen Land und Wasser bilden – der Humus dem Land genommen, die Vegetation zurückgedrängt. Das Meer frisst Land mit jeder Welle .

Charcoal is washed away by rising level of sea.

The series of 5 works TIDES focus the period – the space of time – which is given at the sea level between ebb and flood.
This zone along the coast which is periodic flouted and out of water is a special life space for creatures which use that change for their needs. It is an additional benefit of space which keeps coming and going by time – each time unique .
The canvas is covered by an unfixed strip of charcoal and is put into the sea at the moment of low tide. There it keeps installed for the period of next 6 hours until the level of the sea comes up to high tide. The rising water level makes the drawing while washing the charcoal away, but only where surface tension of the water is strong enough, under the level of low tide the dry surface of the charcoal keeps resistant even being under water during all the time. The light stipe reminds of the stipes alonge the coast made by the sea over a long periode – devouring land wave by wave.
